Chicken Chili My New Go To Recipe

August 2, 2013
It is August and very hot here in Texas. Cooking is not one of  my favorite things to do during the hot summer. But one thing is for sure I love Chili anytime of year.

I recently was visiting one of my go to recipe websites, laurainthekitchen. I love her recipes and browse them daily. I found a recipe for Chicken Chili I knew I had to try. The recipe used lean ground chicken breast and Italian turkey sausage.I have never tried Chicken Chili. The recipe sounded so delicious.

My dads birthday is coming up this month and I told him last week I would cook something special for him. So I decided today would be the perfect day to cook up this amazingly delicious recipe for that special occasion.

The recipe is super simple. You really are not doing a lot of work preparing it. You simply brown the ground chicken, turkey sausage, onion and garlic in olive oil.Add in the seasonings, chicken broth, cannellini  white kidney beans, green chilies, and let simmer for three hours. Add  chopped cilantro to stir in and to finish off this yummy chili, a touch of heavy cream.I know that may sound a little odd but trust me it works. You can add a sprinkle of cheese or sour cream to top it off. Serve with your favorite cornbread and enjoy.

This chili will be my go to chili recipe from now on.
