My Pot Roast Recipe
June 29, 2012
I love pot roast. It is one of my favorite meals. My mom
made the best pot roast when we were growing up.
I can only remember her making it one way, with
potatoes, carrots, onions and using Lipton Onion
Soup Mix. I love using Lipton soup mix. It flavors
the roast, keeps it tender and makes a delicious
gravy. I went grocery shopping yesterday and
found a lean 3 pound roast. I don’t like a roast
with a lot of fat. I had to pick up the rest of
the ingredients because I was out of everything
at home. I used large baking potatoes, baby
carrots and one large onion for this recipe. You
can use the Lipton Onion Mushroom Soup
Mix or just the plain .
The Recipe
Old Fashioned Pot Roast
1 lean 3 pound roast
1 large onion chopped
4 large baking potatoes cubed
4 cups baby carrots
salt
pepper
2 packages of Lipton Onion Dry Soup Mix
4 cups water
1 large roasting bag
Season roast with salt and pepper. Place
roast in roasting bag. Add vegetables, soup
mix and water. Poke a few holes in the
top of the roasting bag to insure that
steam escapes, Bake on 350
for 3 hours. Serve with a side salad.
Enjoy!
