I am so glad Spring is finally here. Easter is right around the corner. Time for family fun, hunting Easter eggs and making some good treats for the kids. This is a recipe you can do with your kids in the kitchen. Made with melted marshmallows, Rice Krispies, and pretzels. I loved Rice Krispies treats as a child. My mom would make it for us once in a while. They tasted so good. This recipe incorporates the classic melted marshmallow in the rice Krispie treat but adds a few other ingredients that make this a tasty Spring/Easter dessert.
These are the ingredients you will need for this recipe. Rice Krispies, pretzels, jelly beans, coconut, food coloring, marshmallows and butter.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
Add food coloring, one drop at a time until your reach your desired color. I used pastel green.
Add rice krispies and pretzel sticks. Stir. Add coconut flakes and stir.
In a mini muffin tin, either sprayed with cooking spray or lightly buttered. Press with buttered fingers or waxed paper into muffin tins. Add jelly beans while warm, so they stick.
Let set about 20 minutes, or 5 minutes in the fridge.
