Tools For The Trade
Before you try and do anything, you’re going to need to equip yourself with some tools of the trade. Whilst we know you’re not going to be doing any major renovations, you’re going to be doing little touch-ups, and adding in things that might require you to have a few tools to hand. One of them is definitely going to be a toolbox containing all the screws, screwdrivers, and alan keys. You never know what you’re going to need when touching up the kitchen. If you’re planning on making any addition such as a new table, shelves, or anything like that, make sure you have a good saw table like the ones you can find at companies such as Straight Kerfs. You’ll also need to make sure you have a freshly sharpened saw, and a steady hand to use it with. Whilst giving your kitchen some TLC, you could also be creating yourself a few hazards, so try and keep the woodwork tasks to a minimum. Although adding in something like some homemade wooden shelves would be nice.
Chips & Dents
TLC is definitely going to be needed with all of the chips and dents that you would have created. For the dents in the plaster, all you need to do is fill the hole. You can get some plaster and spread the small amounts where you need it, or you could get some filling material to cover the gaps. After that, all you would need to do is paint over, and it would look good as new. As for the cupboards that you might have chipped, you could always see if there are any replacements in the type of cupboard that you have. If not, then you could always smooth it over with some sealant again! Getting rid of all the niggling issues really does help to smarten the place up again.
If you want your kitchen to have a fresh look, it’s time to get out your paintbrush and get busy. It’s easy for the colors you use to become dull after even a year, just because of all the different types of cooking that go on. Giving the kitchen a fresh look gives you to chance to recreate it, so don’t be afraid to see if you like the look of another color!
