Disclosure: I received free of charge 4 gourmet mixes from Shirley Lee independent distributor to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A few years prior, I was an independent distributor The Gourmet Cupboard and a Brand Ambassador for a period of time. I know this product well and enjoyed trying the various mixes. This company is owned by Melissa Holmes and Judy Baker. Each mix contains the dry ingredients, and you simply add one or two other ingredients to create a flavorful meal or dessert. I was excited to be sent 4 mixes to try by Shirley Lee, an independent distributor for The Gourmet Cupboard. I received Beer Braised Beef In A Crock Pot Mix, Slow Cooker Asian Pork Wraps, Mexican Meatloaf and Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan Mix. I have tried 3 mixes in the past few weeks. I used my Instant Pot to prepare all but one of them. I love using my Instant Pot.
Slow Cooker Asian Pork Wraps
I used the slow cooker setting on my Instant Pot and made the Slow Cooker Asian Pork Wraps. This made several meals for me. The taste was amazing and I love how simple these meals are from The Gourmet Cupboard,
I used frozen chicken breast, pasta sauce and shredded part skin mozzarella for this recipe. I cooked this in the oven and it was delicious. You can serve this over pasta, but I don’t eat pasta. I just served this with a side salad and it was amazing.
Beer Braised Beef In A Crock Pot (Instant Pot)
I used my Instant Pot to prepare this delicious Beer Braised Beef. I purchased lean stew meat and the recipe calls for one 12 oz can of beer I am not a fan of beer, so I substituted a can of Pepsi. I loved the taste of it. If you like to use beer, you can try it and I’m sure it would be delicious. I added brown rice directly to the Instant Pot and this meal turned out great!

Shirley Lee’s Bio
I’m Shirley Lee. I live in Palestine, Texas. I grew up in Dallas. In 1995, I gave up the city life and moved to Piney woods of East Texas, and I love it.
I’m a mother of three daughters who live in the Motorplex, I’m a grandmother to two grandchildren, but calling them my grandchildren sounds funny since they are all grown up. My granddaughter is a junior at Oklahoma University while my grandson is a junior in High School. My children motivated me to venture into Food Mixes business.
When my kids were little, I didn’t cook much, and I was afraid that they would grow up thinking Taco Bell was their favorite meal. In 2001, my daughter attended a Food Mix Home Party Back. It made her build interest in cooking. The interest was contagious! I booked a party and immediately signed up with a Mix Company. In 2007, I left the Mix Company to join The Gourmet Cupboard. (My company) I’m glad I joined the Gourmet Cupboard since the Mix Company closed in 2011.
Joining The Gourmet Company is one of my joys in life. TGC offers good prices and a large variety of mixes such as flavored coffee. I started building a team during the first year in business.
When my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer, I was the caregiver. I couldn’t get out and sell the mixes. Having a computer and a wide social circle helped me build a business online. Before I knew it, I had already built a business on social media. Within a short time, I made it to the rank of Top Team. (It was the highest rank). A couple of years ago, I came up with a new computer plan that helped me move to the Kitchen Wizard rank.
In 2008, I lost my husband. Dealing with the grief was made easier by my job. I buried myself with work to deal with the pain of losing my husband. I have since Moved on with my Life. I met a lovely man, started country western dancing, and I love it. I was doing shows and events up until a few months ago. I had the chance to get a booth and move into an Upscale Antique / Craft Mall. Now I own a store with a permanent location, and it is so much easier than packing and unpacking when doing events and festivals.
Also, I have added JR Watkins to my line of products. I realized I was selling the best food mixes. Why wouldn’t I want to sell people the best Vanilla to go with the mixes? Now that I have a little more time to do some crafts, I am slowly but surely getting to incorporate these along with handmade goat milk soap into my shop and I love it!
I hope that if you are ever in the Palestine, Texas area you will stop by and if you let me know you are coming, I will be glad to meet you at Old Magnolia Mercantile Downtown Palestine.
My TGC business has helped me so much. The most important thing is getting “Families back around the Dinner Table. “ It was back then and still is a very important part of why I do what I do. I strongly believe that if kids can settle down with the family to a good meal around that old dining room table they will benefit so much from it in their lives.
Best Wishes & Good Dishes
