What a joy to hear that chocolate might actually be good for you! Well, it isn’t all good for you, most of it is really bad, especially if you decide to eat a whole easter egg in one sitting. The health benefits of dark chocolate, however, are much better than your average bar of Hershey’s chocolate. As long as you eat it in moderation, it can promote heart health for one, something that we’re sure you never thought it would do! It can also help to improve metabolism, reduce stress, and regulate blood pressure. But remember, it is all in moderation, so don’t go thinking you can eat a whole bar to yourself and all your troubles will magically melt away. For one, it’s rather bitter after a while and might be hard for the none dark chocolate lover to take. And two, just because it has so many health benefits, doesn’t mean it has a lower level of calories!
Red Wine & Guinness
Right, we know this one isn’t food, but we wouldn’t be doing the article justice without mentioning these. Besides, they both technically started off as food in the first place! Let’s start with red wine, a lot of your ladies will like this one. Studies have actually shown that red wine makes you live longer. Again, like with chocolate, you can’t be chugging a bottle of wine each night expecting to live until you’re 100. A cheeky small glass a night, however, might have good effects for you. Like with chocolate, it can also help to prevent heart disease and keep your mind fresh during old age. As for Guinness, you either love it or hate it, but you can’t deny the health benefits. It is packed full of iron, and it is highly recommended that people suffering from an iron deficiency drink this. It is now even recommended that pregnant women drink small amounts of this to replace the iron they’re losing from carrying a child.
We’re going to have to talk about these due to the health craze they’re causing lately. Some people are eating them without even knowing why they’re good. Well, the main reason is that they’re full of good fats, and they’re packed with high-density lipoproteins which clear the blood of low-density lipoproteins which can, therefore, lower cholesterol! Have them with some eggs on toast and you’re in for a treat!
