This is a decadent chocolate pie recipe.I have tried many variations of chocolate pie recipes over the years. I remember growing up my mom made the best chocolate pie ever. She used cocoa powder in her recipe. Chocolate is my weakness. Christmas Eve I searched for the perfect recipe for chocolate pie. I wanted it to be special to share with my family on Christmas Day. I visited Ree Drummond’s blog, Pioneer Woman and saw a chocolate pie recipe that made my mouth water.
In this recipe, she used chopped dark bitter-sweet chocolate instead of cocoa. I knew this pie was going to be amazing, of course it’s a recipe from Ree Drummond.
I got up super early Christmas Eve and went to the grocery store to beat the crowd. I had to get several items to prepare this pie. When I am making chocolate cake, pie or brownies, I use Gharadelli Chocolate. This chocolate is delicious in recipes. I got several bars of the dark bitter-sweet chocolate. Of course, I didn’t have time to make my pie crust, so I picked up a couple of boxes of Pillsbury ready-made crust.
I pulled out my Paula Deen deep-dish pie plate to bake the crust.
Preparing the pudding was very easy. I chopped the chocolate into small pieces, and prepared the pudding in my new Copper Chef pan. This pudding was delicious. I will never make another chocolate pie with cocoa ever again. This chocolate pie recipe was to die for. Honestly, this is the best pie I have ever made in my entire life. The pudding is just the right consistency. I let the pie chill for several hours in the fridge before serving. You can top it with a little whipped cream if you like. I hope you try this recipe. This is the most delicious, decadent chocolate pie recipe, that will satisfy the chocolate lover in everyone. See the full recipe here.
