Homemade Cranberry Sauce

November 28, 2010

I love cranberry sauce. Every year i usually buy the canned cranberry. This year I saw this recipe on Mommyskitchen and decided to try it for Thanksgiving. It was so yummy. I will never go back to canned cranberry ever again. The recipe is so easy. I hope you will  serve this yummy cranberry sauce for Christmas dinner. You will be glad you did.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

1 bag fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest

Add ingredients to sauce pan and stir to combine sugar, orange juice, and orange zest. Cook on medium heat until cranberries pop about 10 minutes. It will thicken when chilled. Enjoy!

it puts canned cranberry sauce to a shame! Every year my granmother always made cranberry relish and now we keep the traditon going by using her recipe each year:) Your recipe is very similar to ours but hers calls for chopped walnuts.
