Texas Women Bloggers~ Get To Know Me

Getting to Know You Link Party with the Texas Women Bloggers

I am writing this post for the Texas Women Bloggers link party. I recently joined a group on Facebook called Texas Women bloggers. My name is Sheila.I am originally from Texas and love meeting other bloggers that live in Texas. I love this group, it has been a great support system for me and my blog.Today I am going to answer the following questions so my readers  and my Texas Women Blogger friends can get to know me better.Looking forward to reading your stories.

This month’s questions:
1. If you make money with your blog, how do you do it?

I have been compensated from time to time to participate in
sponsored reviews.  I participated in  The Real Challenge by
Challenge Dairy and submitted  an awesome recipe for my Pecan Praline Apple Buttermilk Cake.

2. How do you increase your blog readership?

I always try to connect with my readers by sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Sverve.I love hosting giveaways.I am very active in social media and  love getting to know new people. I belong to a variety of social media Facebook groups for bloggers.I have a passion for cooking, baking  and reviewing products.

3. If you aren’t originally from Texas, what brought you here?I am originally from Texas. I have lived here all my life. I love it.

4. If someone were to hand you $10,000 (no strings attached), what would you do with it?

Oh, wow that would be awesome! I would pay off my bills and do so some traveling. I would love to use the money to grow my blog.  I would absolutely love to go to a  blog conference.
I have never been before and that is something I would love to do. I would also love to attend the Metropolitan Cooking show in Dallas or Houston TX and get the chance to meet my
favorite  Food Network chef. You can purchase VIP tickets on the website.

5. If you were a color, what color would you be?

Red. I love that color.

6. What are your blogging strengths? Weaknesses?

Well, first of all, I would have to say that my strength is
that I have never gave up on my blog. I have had this blog since 2009.So no matter how difficult life may get, I have never given up on it.   I like to write when I am stressed from everyday life. My weakness?Well, I would have to say that sometimes I get very busy and do not post for a while. Also I don't know all there is to know about the tricks of the trade yet, but I am getting there.  The most important  thing is, I am proud of  my blog Welcome To My Kitchen. No matter how small  my readership is or how many followers I end up getting.I am proud to be a Texas Women Blogger.

  3. New follower from the Texas Women Bloggers! I love to cook so I am looking forward to reading your blog. I recently did a photo canvas review and giveaway on my blog and wondered if you would like to do one as well. The company was easy to work with, and it was so nice to get a new photo for my home. Just let me know if you are interested! Catie-talesofarealhousewife@gmail.com
