GOOSEBERRY PATCH~ 101 HEARTY RECIPES REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

November 5, 2011

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

I was so excited when I was asked to

review Gooseberry Patch 101 Hearty
Recipes.  A newly released spiral bound
cookbook with 101 recipes that will
knock your socks off! This is my first
review for Gooseberry Patch.
It was so hard trying to decide what
recipes to try because each recipe
has a mouthwatering photo and all
of them looked so good. I planned
a family gathering and finally decided
to prepare three recipes from the cookbook and
an additional recipe the next day.

101 Hearty Recipes has 4  yummy chapters.

Fun & Filling
Speedy &Satisfying
Casual & Comforting
Baked &Buttery

With the holidays coming up I want
to try several recipes like the  Texas
Hominy on page 60, Farmhouse Chicken
Bake on page 47 and the Dark Chocolate
Pecan Pie on page 101.

One of the things I really liked about this
cookbook is how easy and quick the recipes
are.  I love quick and easy recipes. Most
of these recipes contain ingredients
already in your pantry and can be
prepared in 30 minutes or less. Whether
you are a seasoned cook or a beginner you will
be able to create a delicious home cooked meal
in no time.

The first recipe I tried was the Quick & Creamy

Vegetable Soup. This soup is perfect for
a cold day and so very easy to prepare. I used frozen
mixed vegetables and the only thing I did different
was use a bit more chicken broth to thin the soup
down a bit. This soup is a tasty comfort food
your family will love.

The next recipe I prepared was the  Pull-Apart Bacon

Bread. Oh my goodness, this bread was to die for!
Everyone loved it and my moms neighbor stopped
by to try a piece  and was begging me for the recipe.
You will have to try this recipe, it is awesome. The
recipe calls for green pepper but I used a combination of
red, yellow and green peppers because this is all I had on hand
at the time.I buy the diced peppers at my local grocery that are already diced and ready to go. This bread was delicious fresh
out of the oven and a nice compliment to the
soup.

For dessert I prepared the Crunchy Oat &Fruit Crisp.
This was delicious. Made with sliced apples, blueberries
and cherries and a nice crunchy topping. It was so good.
My sister loved this recipe. She went home and made
it the next day.I could not find fresh cherries at the store
so I used the dried cherries instead.

I absolutely fell in love with 101 Hearty Recipes  from
Gooseberry Patch and will definitely give this cookbook a thumbs up review.  Thank you Gooseberry Patch for providing this yummy cookbook for me to review.
