Hello everyone.Hope you are having a great weekend. I have been under the weather for a few days so I am just now getting back to posting. I was given the opportunity by Justin’s Nut Butter to review three nut butter products.I received the package in the mail yesterday and was curious about how it would taste. I had never heard of Justin’s Nut Butter before. I opened the box to find a variety of squeeze packs that come in convenient packets that you can just tear open an squeeze out. I liked that because it would be easy to pack in a lunch for work or for parents to pack the kids lunches for school. Justin’s Nut Butter is 100% organic. Made with organic nuts, cane sugar, cocoa, etc. I picked up some apples at the grocery store and decided to dip the apples slices in the nut butters to try them one by one. I received the Chocolate Almond Butter, Chocolate Hazelnut Butter and Chocolate Peanut Butter. I fell in love with the Chocolate Almond Butter! It is delicious. I also enjoyed the taste of the hazelnut and chocolate peanut butter. I will give Justin’s Nut Butter an honest thumbs up for this review.
Company History & Mission
Justin Gold founded Justin’s in Boulder, Colorado in 2002. Starting with a good idea, great ambition, a simple food processor and the highest quality ingredients available, Justin made his very first batches of his now-famous gourmet nut butters in his home kitchen. He packed them in 16-ounce jars, gave them to friends and family, and sold them to local natural food stores. The response was extraordinary, the company grew quickly, and in four short years Justin’s grew from its literal cottage industry beginnings to a successful national brand with a loyal following of passionate customers. Now available in nine delicious gourmet flavors—Classic Peanut, Honey Peanut, Cinnamon Peanut, Classic Almond, Honey Almond, and Maple Almond—we at Justin’s are just as committed to producing the finest organic and natural nut butters on the planet today as we were in the those very early days. We grind our nut butters with a proprietary process that ensures optimum flavor and consistency in each individual batch. Whether you enjoy them in 16-ounce jars or our 1.5- or .5-ounce squeeze packs, we want every single flavor of Justin’s to leave your palate delighted, your body nourished and satisfied, and your mind made up to never go back to ordinary nut butters again. Our company is committed not only to great flavor, but also to integrity of ingredients and business practices. We use only the best organic and natural ingredients available, buy as locally as possible, and work to mitigate our environmental impact in every aspect of our business.
About Founder/CEO Justin Gold
Growing up in a small mountain town in Pennsylvania, Justin’s family owned and operated a small natural foods store where he acquired an early awareness, education and appreciation for natural foods.
In 2002, a few years after graduating from college, an active and outdoor lifestyle brought Justin to Boulder, Colorado, where – as a vegetarian – he consumed large amounts of peanut and other nut butters to satisfy protein needs.
Later that same year he started making nut butters in his home kitchen with a food processor. Justin spent countless hours taste testing with roommates, co-workers and family members. With encouragement from immediate friends he began researching how to bring this idea to market through extensive free workshops at the Boulder Small Business Development Center and Colorado University’s Leeds School of Business. Through seminars, mentorship, study and hard work he launched a line of 16-ounce jars to local Colorado natural foods stores in 2004 while maintaining a full-time day job. In 2006 he created an on-the-go squeeze pack for himself and friends to have as a high-protein snack option while hiking, running, biking, skiing, etc. The squeeze pack was a game changer for the business and now generates over 80% of Justin’s revenue.Justin graduated from Dickinson College with a bachelor of arts in environmental studies. He is an avid backpacker, backcountry skier, mountain biker, reader and food/health nut.
